BRS Aerospace’s primary business is the design, manufacture, and sale of rocket-extracted whole-airframe parachute recovery systems. These may be for ultralight, experimental, light sport, general aviation, or military aircraft. BRS has been forging the path for this seemingly novel concept for over 35 years.
Purpose
The purpose of the cutter is to cut materials needed to produce parachutes and other associated articles within acceptable quality and efficiency requirements.
Position Summary
The cutter works with minimal supervision cutting fabric, line, tape and other textile parts for parachutes and associated components according to BRS quality and efficiency requirements.
Reports to: Production Manager and/or supervisor
Accountabilities
The cutter is accountable for performing his/her own work accurately and efficiently according to instructions.
Responsibilities
- Follow instructions and perform operations as trained.
- Follow company policies as written in the Employee Manual.
- Meet company expectations for quality and efficiency.
Knowledge, skills, competencies
- Sewing skills
- Good vision and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to concentrate on fine details and repetitious tasks for long periods
- Ability to work alone as well as in a team
- An awareness of safe operating procedures
- Basic measuring and calculating skills and/or pattern reading skills
- Good communication skills required
- Ability to use specification sheets, drawings, work instructions
- Detail oriented and able to maintain high accuracy standards
Education and experience:
- High School diploma or GED preferred
